Calma is an innovative feeding solution designed for breastfed babies. It was specially created for feeding breast milk.
The Medela Calma teat only allows milk to flow when your baby creates a vacuum. Similar to the breastfeeding process the vacuum here is created by an interaction of jaw and tongue movement. As soon as your baby stops, the milk flow stops as well.
This ensures that your baby can maintain his/her natural sucking behaviour and drink, pause and breathe evenly. Thus switching from breast to the Calma teat and back is promoted.
Only one teat size for the entire nursing period is required for feeding your baby with the Calma teat – just like in nature.
